JOHN HENDRIE RETIRES AS BREEDER TORONTO, Ont.. October 6. John Hendrie has retired as a breeder of thoroughbreds and all of the horses at his Valley Stud Farm near Hamilton have been disposed of. Edward Whyte. acting for Mr. Hendrie, disposed of the imported stallion Bezant, by Orme. and the brood mares Slipper Day, MIccousekee, Flying Flora, Roque, Good Shot and Moki-Land to Walter Parmer. The latter also purchased the tour weanlings at the farm, but afterward disposed of them to the Seagram Stable. They are all by Bezant, from the mares Slipper Day, MIccousekee, Flying Flora and lioque. These four were, shipped by van to the Seagranl farm at Waterloo, Ont. The stallion Bezant and the six brood mares purchased by Mr. Parmer have been shipped to the Belle Meade Farm, near Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Edward Seagram has commissioned E. S. Hayes of Owen Sound to go to Englnnd to purchase a half dozen brood mares for him. The only thoroughbred now left at the Valley Farm is the inare Shimonese, the property of George M. Hendrie.
