YOUNG ATHELINGS BEING BROKEN BY F. L. McKENNEY. SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., October 8. Nineteen yearlings belonging to George Wingfield have been transferred from the owners Nevada Stock Farm to the Heno race track, where they will be prepared for two-year-old racing. Thirteen of the youngsters are by the Desmond horse Atheling, five liy Honeywood. son of Polymelus. and the nineteenth, by the Domino horse Disguise. The "babies" wete broken at the farm and soon will be galloping cigljtUs. Atheling is one of the best bred stallions Myer imported from England and Mr. Wingfield is justly sanguine about the promise of his progeny. TlitT first Atheling will be seen under colors when these, youngsters go to the races. Atheling is a lietfiitif ully proportioned bay and invariably stamps the progeny with his fine outlines. His sire, e-moml, Is about the most successful of the sons of tlie grent St. Simon and his dam, Wood Daisy, was not .only a grand race mare, but conies of a long lltie of famous producers. Last year the Wingfield baby racers were put through" their preparatory paces at tlie State Fair Grounds, Sacramento.
