NO STARS IN JAMAICA RACING Major Parke Takes the Main Race in Desperate Struggle with Tableau dHonneur. JAMAICA. N. Y.. October 8. Major Parke saved tlie talent from utter rout today when he got to tlie finishing line a head in front of Tableau dHonneur in the Caledonian Handicap. It was strictly a two-horse race, with Major Parke with Kummer up and Tableau dnonneur witli Elisor astride. The two star jockeys fought an exciting stretch duel, first one in front, then the other, until Kummer fairly lifted Major Parke over the winner in the last few strides. Leading Star was third, three lengths back. Again the public choice failed when Lovely could do uo better than fourth. Ensor displayed good jockeyship when he landed Kezijh the winner. Gueland, with Lovely second, set the pace until an eighth out, when Ensor brought Keziah up next to the rail and got up in the last strides to beat Sir Clarence by a head. Gueland was third. Gex was another well-considered one which ran disappointingly. Titanium, under a good ride at the hands of the veteran jockey Obert. accounted for the second race, leading from the rise of the barrier and finishing two lengths in front.of The Wit, the 1 to 2 favorite. LEnjoleur followed Titanium in tlie early running, but tired in the last eighth and was beaten for second money by The Wit. The Wit was a distant follower for the first three-quarters. He came fast through the stretch, but his rush was illy timed and too late. The talent went toMille Fleurs from J. W. Mc-Clellands stable in the opening dash, but the filly was away badly and raced disappointingly. The winner turned up in C. A. Applugates Tout Or, which, from a fast beginuing, held the lead all the way and won by a length and a half from Segurola, which had been the nearest contestant. Lady Stella came fast when clear in the stretch and got up to beat Draftsman by a head for third money.
