Won driving; second and third the same. DAY LILLY, after being a forward contender, responded well when called on and, finishing fast, outstayed GILT FRINGE in the final drive. The latter moved up gamely on the stretch turn, raced SEGUROLA Into defeat, but tired when called on for a final effort. SEGUROLA rushed into the lead .and set a fast pace in the early running, but gave jvay in the last eighth. OMER K., flatfooted at the start, closed a big gap and was cut off in the last eighth. The latter was. much used in setting the early pace and tired when challenged, but finished resolutely. LORD HERBERT began slowly, but gradually improved his position and finished fastest of all when too late. WAR PLUME ran poorly. TITANIUM set the early iace. hut quit badly in the last "quarter. TOM McTAGGART took the lead at once and, making the pace fast, raced LEADING STAR intq defeat and, drawing away in the stretch, maintained his advantage to the end. RED RED ROSE was in close quarters for three-eighths and, saving ground when entering the stretch, finished gamely, "but could not secure a clear course in the stretch. LEADING STAR raced forwardly all the way, but tired in the stretch drive. RALCO ran well. ENFILADE; shuffled back in the first eighth, made a game effort at the quarter post, but was forced wide and tired at the end. PENELOPE ran better than the chart shows. WHISK had no mishaps.
