CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Quite a few Kentucky horsemen will winter at Douglas Park. The stable of R. L. Baker lias enjoyed a goodly measure of success this year, winning 8,222 in stakes and purses. Milkmaids seven-eighths of a. mile in 1:23 at Saratoga, August 19, was the fastest time recorded at that distance this year. B. R. Bradley did fare as well at Churchill Downs as he did at Latonia and Lexington, although his horses won four race; and over ,000. The speedy Eddie Rickenbacher is reported to have rounded into his best form and should make it interesting for the fastest sprinters at Bowie. The American sires Adam Bede, by Adam Grace Gumberts, and Dalmatian, by Ethelberf Ionis, both in Joe Cannons establishment at Newmarket, are being freely patronized. Six horses have run three-quarters of a mile in 1:11, the fastest time recorded at that distance this year. They are: High Gear, Money, Right Angle, Marjorie Hynes, Dr Hickman and Dun-boyne.
