POITREL A WONDERFUL RACE HORSE. The Melbourne Cup was run at the Flcmington course, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Tuesday, November 2, in ideal weather and before an estimated record attendance of 120,000 people. In winning the race, under top weight of 140 pounds, Poitrol proved himself to be the best horse in Australia and his fine performance aroused tremendous enthusiasm among the spectators.
