NORMAL WEATHER PREVAILS With Result That Bumper Crowd Sees Racing at Bowie. : Jadda First in Principal Race Bon Homme Easily Defeats Sporting Blood. 1 BOWIE, Md., November 18. With normal weather conditions prevailing, .i bumper crowd attended the races nt the track of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association here today. The offering by raring secretary Joseph McLennan was a good one, all of the races bringing out well matched contenders. The fourth race, a handicap for all ages, at six and a linlf furlongs, excited the most interest and attracted a field of nine. J. W. Beans Jadda, the favorite, displayed the most speed, and went to the front at once and made every post a winning one. Ticklish, from a slow beginning, made up ground gradually and outstayed Dry Moon for second place. Dry Moon closely followed the pacemaker until well down the stretch, when he tired, but lasted to take the short end of the purse. Mock Orange showed speed, but weakened badly in the final racing. Wm. Farnum scored his initial turf victory when his gelding" Bustler won the first race in a canter by eight lengths. Morning Face kept close up all the way and was second with the first-time starter William of Corotoman third. Gaudy showed good speed, but tired badly in the heavy going. Schuttinger sent" liis mount into a long lead soon nfter the start, gave him a breathing spell on the backstretch, then drew, away when Sporting Blood challenged, to win as lie pleased. Sporting Blood had no excuse and was .hard ridden all the way. Dolly O. outstayed Due de Morny for third money. F. Mnsantes My Dear, racing back to her last performance, won the third race in a stirring finisli from Sandy Beal and Biff Bang. The latter and Raleo alternated in the early pacemaking until Morris sent My Dear to the front, where the filly opened a good gap and challenged in the stretcli and hting on gamely to win by a half length. Sandy Beal, from a slow beginning, closed ground rapidly in the. stretcli racing and momentarily appeared the winner. The winning streak of favorites broke in the fifth race when G. W. Formans Columbine, after being waited with in the early running, went to the front an eighth out and drew away to win in a ennter. Mistress Polly ran her usual race, was far out of it in the first part, made up many lengths of ground and took second place from Sister Emblem, which set all the pace and only tired in the last few strides. C. Knights recent acquisition. Siesta, had no difficulty in winning the sixth race. He i-aced Manoevre into early defeat and galloped to the finish six lengths in the lead. Deckmate, running in improved form, found second place easy to hold from Wankeag, which came from the rear in game fashion. W. S. Murrays Court Fool astounded the speculators when the judges hung up his number as winner of the seventh race from American Boy and Rinkavous. The finisli was a nose one and when the numbers were displayed the public took exception to the placing. American Boy went to the front rounding the turn and looked to be winning, but Court Fool stole up on the inside, saving much ground and getting the decision in the last stride. Rinkavous was third. E. P. Summerfiehl claimed Rustler after his victory in the first race. After L. T. Bauer had claimed Nohant from P. T. Cliinn for ,805 the latter took Burgoyne from Bauer for ,700. A. F. Dayton claimed Dantzig after Wednesdays win for ,000. The stnnding start only is being employed by starter Edward Tribe on order of the stewards. Silas Veitch has the horses of the Glen Iver Stable in charge and will winter them at the Laurel track. J. F. Flannagan was a visitor from Kentucky, en route to his home at Jamaica. Jockey F. Keogh arrived this morning and will be seen under silks during the remainder of the meeting.
