BIG RETURNS FROM CANADIAN RACING TORONTO, Ontario, November 20. Returns for Spring race meetings at the mile tracks in Ontario, as shown in figures issued by the provincial treasurer this afternoon, show handsome profits for those operating the tracks. At the spring meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club held at Woodbine the receipts were 33,482.83 and the disbursements 17,730.47. The total amount wagered during this meet was ;94G,002, the Ontario Jockey Clubs percentage on tlie bets amounting to 92,842 net. Gate receipts were 10,757. Purses given by the club amounted to ;437.nO. The Ontario government -received 2,500 for license and the municipal tax amounted to 1,191. Wages and salaries totaled 9,8-10: meeting expenses, Including police and Pinkerton agency, cost the-club 1,707. At the Thorncliffe spring meeting the receipts, exclusive of percentage on wagers, amounted to 8,248. The percentage is given as 12,5S5. The total amount wagered was ,125,857. Admission tickets brought in 3,830, and War tax on these was 0,121. Disbursements totaled 77,754, Including government license, 2,500 ; war tax, 0,480; purses, 7,470.- Operating expenses in 1918 were 4,327; 1919, 30; 1920, 0,815.
