CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Nearly 00,000 was distributed in stakes and purses at the two meetings, spring and fall, held at Latouia this year. AVoodtrap and Lady Luxury won the greatest number of races, nine each, in Kentucky during the racing of 1920. L. T. Bauer, the new owner of Tippity AAitchct, " intends to race that popular gelding at New Orleans during the winter. Ed Soule is retried to have tried to secure Tippity AAitchct for racing at Tijuana. v There will be a goodly number of Chicago sportsmen going to New Orleans for the winter racing season. While some will take in the Jefferson Park meeting, the majority will wait until the holiday season before departing south. II. T. Griffin, who was a good jockey twenty years ago, and who raced a few horses for himself in California as late as 1909, lias applied for a trainers license and will return to his first love next year. Griffin is now a man of wealth. Fred Burlew lias received twelve of J. II. Ros-seters California-bred yearlings and will winter them in the spacious Macomber barns at Belmont Park. He expects six additional youngsters fron the Itossetcr ranch and eighteen from A. K. Macom-bers San Jose farm within a few days.
