HUNTING, FISHING AND SPORT. A sixteen-year-old boy, Willie McGregor by namc, recently landed a tiger muskcliunge Aveighiiig thirty-eight pounds and measuring forty-fi-c inches in length Avhile fishing in Big St. Germain Lake, near Woodruff, Wis, The big fish waged a strenuous battle for several hours. The boy was assisted in the lauding of his prize by Andrew Blpomfield, a train conductor, and several other persons. According to a ruling of Munclp.il Judge Schaefer of Ely, Minn., hunters in Minnesota cannot even swap game. A hunter Avho had shot a deer and wanted to trade it Avith another hunter for a moose brought the matter to the judsss attention and the above opinion followed. It Avas held that a trade constitutes, to all pracical intents and purposes, a sale, whldi is forbidden by law. All persons desiring to hunt in Maryland must, in the first place, have a hunters license in their possession, and a new laAV, passed by the General Assembly of 1920, requires every person to Avear an arm tag, AA-hich is furnished free Avith the license. This tag must be Avorn on the left arm, betAveen the elbow and shoulder, and in plain vicAV of the public. Failure to comply Avith this law means prosecution. The deer season in Wisconsin opens November 20 and lasts until November 30. December 1 and -will be alloAved as days of grace to ship deer. As in former years, a resident license costs . Tho only change made in the deer laAV is that the killing of does nnd of fawns of either six shall be prohibited and no person shall kill more than one buck with horns, not less than three inches in length. The Rockefeller Foundation announces the gift to the state of Louisiana of the Grand Chcnicr Wild Life Refuge, comprising 85,000 acres. The Grand Chonicr tract Avas purchased by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1011 as a contribution to tho preservation of the-Avild life of the country. The tract has since been under the supervision of the Department of Conservation of Louisiana. Tho tract avIU be maintained as a perpetual Avild life preserve.
