NONUS, while outjumped by LIEUTENANT SEAS, made up ground on the flat under energetic riding and, finishing gamely, got up to win in the final sixteenth. LIEUTENANT SEAS jumped well and saved ground where possible, but was tiring at the end. ABDUL had no chance. WAR TOGS fell at the fifth jump and SEA TALE and FREE STATE fell over him. AAron handily; second and third driving. HIGH C, in closest pursuit from the start, raced BIG NOISE into defeat and, taking the lead, withstood a challenge from ASHLIN. The latter raced close up all the way and finished fast. LOVELIEST ran a good race. FANATIC closed up ground when he got clear of a pocket. FORESTALL could never get up. MY DEAR was saved within striking distance of the leaders until after rounding the far turn, from where she came with a rush aud easily passed SAILING H. in the stretch drive. The latter rushed to the front midway of the backstrctch, but was tiring badly through the last eighth. PIMLICO was outpaced in the early running, but saved ground on the turns and was going fastest of all at the finish. LUCKY B. ran well the first half and then tired. TAILOR MAID tired badly. PADUA was fractious while going to the post, but began well and, being rated behind the leaders until on the stretch turn, raced into the lead when called on and won going away. DOCTOR JIM forced the early pace, but tired after taking the lead and barely lasted to save second place. BALADIN began slowly and was outpaced in the early running, but saved ground on all the turns and was gaining fast at the finish.
