ARMY RACE AT BELMONT ON MONDAY NEW YORK, N. Y., September ti. Tlie first clash between the New York and Washington contingents of the army remount, service since Maj. C. L. Stevensons Madelle defeated the best that the capital outfit could muster at Bowie last spring is slated to take place at Belmont Park next Monday. The Washington contingent, has arrived and is quartered in the remount stable at Belmont Iark. The following horses are included: Avon Bear, Courteous, The Tank and Thermostat, property of the remount service; Chester Two and Jaybird, property of Major Stanley Koch; llermana, property of Lieut. Thomas McCrcary. All are entered in Mondays race. The New York branch will depend upon .apt. Hart well Temples Katie Canal and Maj. C. L. Stevensons Madelle. Katie Canal won the military race at the Belmont Terminal track last week. Madelle won the military race at Saratoga. She also carried the New York outfit to victory in the last clash of the two rival contingents at Bowie.
