GREEN GOLD, helped by the going and taking the lead at once, set a good pace for the going and won all the way. PEGGY C. ran a line race and made a fast and game linish. HKRMONT tired in the last eighth after racing prominently from the start. BLAISE appeared lame when going to the post and tired in the last sixteenth. DUKE OF SAYOY quit. PORT LIGHT and PHILANDERER were not persevered with after being away poorly. WASHINGTON ran as if ho outclassed the others, rushed into the lead at once and, increasing it fast while under restraint, won as his rider pleased. TULANE reared and .fell while at the post, but began well and, racing in closest pursuit, outstayed SMILING LAD In the final drive. SMILING LAD raced gamely, but had to be ridden hard. MARJORIE IIYNES quit badly after setting the early pace and is racing much below her true form. ROULEAU was squeezed back at the start.
