DUFFERIN PARKS OPENING J. T. Buckley Scores a Double Pepper Tea Wins and Changes Owners. TORONTO, Ont., September S. J. T. Buckley provided two of the winners on the occasion of the opening of the Toronto Driving Clubs autumn meeting at Dufferiri Park this afternoon when Lady Ivan annexed the fourth race with considerable to. spare after leading throughout and Hemlock, after a hard struggle all through the last quarter, managed to beat Joe Joe by a neck in the second race in a driving finish. Jockey Schwartz, who piloted Joe Joe, was set down for three days for rough riding following the running of this race. The colors of C. T. AAorthington were shown at Dufferin Park for the first time when Pepper Tea, the daughter of Peter Quince, was returned winner of the first race. Following her victory Pepper Tea was purchased at private sale by J. Hoskins for 1.500. Bugle March, which had been on the ailing list, having a slight wind affection, scored his initial success of fhe year when lie captured the second race, which was exclusively for horses foaled in Canada. He came from behind in the stretch to earn the victory. Sheba annexed the concluding dash with ease from some good three-year-olds. "Ideal weather conditions prevailed, and a crowd of fully 5,000 turned out to witness the sport. ODonovan pulled up lame after running of the fifth race, and Liberator ran away a mile and a half, the reverse way of the track, after the conclusion of the fourth nice. Due to his mean actions while at the post today the judges ordered that entry of Enrico Caruso be refused here in the future. Mrs. A. Miller has purchased the horse Kilkenny at private sale.
