BUYS CONTRACT ON JOCKEY M00NEY NEW ORLEANS. La., February 20.— Acting for J. B. Smith, a California coal magnate and sportsman, H. T. Griffin today purchased the contract which John Marino, New Orleans turfman, held on jockey J. D. Mooney. The price involved was not elisclosed. Oriffin, who trains the Smith horses, will take Mooney to Louisville and from there will go East. Mooney is a Crescent City lad and a brother of jockey J. Mooney, who was under engagement last year to the Quincy Stable.
