« GREAT AUSTRALIAN HORSE IS LEAD SYDNEY. N. S. W., January 23.— There recently died at John Browns Wills Gully Stud, near here. Prince Foote, one of the most notable of Australian race horses of his time and a successful sire. Prince Foote whs sixteen years old. by Sir Foote — Petruschka, by Isinglass. He was the best three-year-old of 1909 and won the Victoria Derby by six lengths, the Melbourne Cup by three lengths the Victoria St. Leger by fifteen lengths and the Sydney St. Leger by twelve lengths. In all Prince Foote won eleven of eighteen races and 2,600 in two years. His best progeny has been Prince Viridis, Richmond Main, Pelaw Main, Prince Charles and Lucy. The horse ruptured a blood vessel by a plunge in his box stall. He was one of the most docile of horses and a pet of his owner.
