DUETTISTE UNDER SUSPICION Rumor That He May Not Be Able to Start in the Grand National. LONDON. England. March 3. — Some recent bad reports about Duettiste are probably exaggerated, yei Wednesday night his odds for tlie Graind National drifted to 33 to 1 from 15 to 1. Escott, his trainer, telephoned from Lewes tliat there is notii ing wrong with Duettiste, but that, as was cabled, he may not start iu the Crand National. Escott has cabled Mr. J. E. Wideuer, who is at Palm Keach, Florida, the exact facts. The horse has been cantering short distances all the week at Lewes. Duettiste is among the probable starters in tomorrow afternoons handicap for the 0,000 Oat wick National Trial Steeplechase at three miles and a quarter, in which he is handicapped at M pounds, eight pounds more than his burden in the Brook Steeplechase, for which he finished alone Ir the rumors are true.
