March 20.— Among the horsemen who wintered their stables at the eld Benning 1 race track. Washington. D. C. who are preparing for Bowie are: F. Musante, Roliert I. Miller. Klmer Tiiieman. James Healy and F. F. Mooar. Musante is fortunate in the possession of My Dear, a filfy of stake caliber, which made her mark in racing last year with victories over some high class horses in Canada. She beat Boniface in the Toronto Spring Cup and lost to him by a head in 1 he Dominion Handicap at Fort Erie. She also lost a neck decision to Exterminator in the Ontario Cup at Woodbine. Miller has three horses, which he intends to race at Bowie — Sailing Along. Wellfinder and Overcast. Overcasl was bred to Gncme nnsuceess-fnllv last year. Sailing Along and Wellfinder are H. 1*. Tineman has a few older horses, but his chief , latere B is in the pair of two-year-olds which he bought at the Carman sale at Pimlieo last autumn: Be Trueman. b. f. by Meridian — Veneta Strome, by Ben Strome. Jean F.. b. f. by Meridian — Gaycry. by Sain. Both of these fillies have worked well. James Healy lias fewr two-year olds belonging to John I.nmsdeu. home-bred at the Lumsden farm.
