e MASTERFULS UNRULY POST BEHAVIOR About MasterfuFs English debut at Gatwick, in the National Trial Steeplechase, March 4, the London Sportsman prints this: "The start for the Trial Steeplechase was delayed for some time through the bolting of the American horse Masterful, owned by Mr. Foxhall Keene. The gelding is evidently appropriately named, as he took charge of Kelly, his rider, on the way to the post, and galloped quite a mile before being pulled up. On the way back he repeated the process and careered past the stands down to the end of the course. Eventually the others were started without him. but the delay he caused could not afterwaids be made up."
