LOUISVILLE TRACKS QUIET LOUISVILLE Ky April 23 Light show ¬ ers early this morning were succeeded by a heavy rain which lasted practically all day Only a few trainers had their horses out at the two local tracks before the footing changed to muddy Less training was con ¬ ducted than upon any day for the last six weeks but the departures for Lexington were more responsible for this than the weather Several more carloads of horses left this morning morningRobert Robert H Shannon had to defer shipping Deadlock to that city until tomrrow as the expected car failed to arrive arriveMatt Matt J Winn returned for a brief stay before proceeding to Lexington to remain throughout the meeting meetingMose Mose Goldblatt came from his home in Cincinnati to put the entire band of II P Whitney twoyearolds at the Downs through their paces He will await the opening of the local meeting before getting into action with these youngsters youngstersFailing Failing to obtain the desired stalls John C Ferriss has changed his plans and will not take any of the George J Long horses to Lexington LexingtonC C C Van Meter is another to make differ ¬ ent arrangements for the same reason reasonMilt Milt Meffert who will serve as supervisor of the parimutuels at a number of the smal ¬ ler tracks beginning at Maple Heights Ohio came in from Havana where he enjoyed a vacation since the close of the meeting After spending a few days at home he will journey on to Cleveland
