PENDERGAST raced in closest pursuit to the last eighth and, taking tha lend, won going away. BABYLONIAN displayed a high flight of speed until midway of the stretch, then tired and swerved out In the final eighth. TOM ROACH raced up to the leadera when approaching tha stretch turn, but was tiring at the end. CURRENCY began slowly and finished with a belated rush through the stretch. GREY EAGLE closed a gap. TAILOR MAID began quickly, but was outpaced after going tho first quarter and can beat such horses when fit. MURRAY could never improve his position and had no mishaps.
