EMPIRE CITYS FINE SUMMER MEETING The Empire City Racing Association held its annual summer meeting from July 8 to July 29, inclusive, and during the nineteen days of racing the goodly sum or 92,793 was distributed in stakes and purses, the daily average distribution amounting to 0,147. Featured by the running of sixteen stake races of good value, the sport at Yonkers proved interesting and pleased the large crowds in daily attendance. Of the owners participating in the races the Rancocas Stable was the largest monetary winner, with 5,247 to its credit. The stable of H. P. Whitney, with 0,391, was a close second, while the Quincy Stable, ,750, and the Greentree Stable, ,431, have no reason to regret sending some of their horses to the Yonkers course. The brilliant Star Shoot colt, Grey Lag, entertained the patrons of the Empire City track by starting in and winning the Empire City Handicap and Mount Kisco Stakes, the combined net value of both races amounting to ,950, which sum was sufficient to place the ace of the Rancocas Stable at the head of the money-winning horses. The riding honors of the meeting fell to L. McAtee, with twelve winning mounts to his credit. I The following are the owners who won 00 or more each: Owner. 1st. 2d. 3d. Amt.
