PUNISHED FOR ALLEGED "DOPING" OF HORSES SPECIAL. CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France, July 31. The stewards of the Societe dEncouragement have withdrawn the license of trainer J. Portefin pending further investigation into alleged "doping" of horses. Several other trainers are mentioned in the rumors regarding the progress of the investigation, but none of the Americans in charge of horses are in connection with the affair.
