WHISK A WA Y SOLD FOR 50,000 SAEAT0GA SPEHTGS, N. Y., August 3. It was announced on excellent authority today tint Earry Payne Whitney had sold his great three-year-old Whiskaway, winner of the Carlton Stakes and the Kentucky Special at Latonia, in both of which races he took the measure of Morvich, to W. A. Clark, negotiations had been on for the purchase of the son of Whisk Broom IT. and Inaugural for some time, and it was intimated that the price paid was 50,000.
