HINDOOSTAN began slowly, but worked his way up steadily on the inside and, saving ground on the stretch turn, finished fast and outstayed M UMBO J UMBO in the final drive. MUMBO JUMBO forced n fast pace and, racing KINETIC into defeat, finished gamely. THORNY WAY came around the leaders on the slretch turn and lost much ground, but finished with a rush. FLEA raced wide, but closed a gap. GALLIPOT closed up ground on the inside. RISING ROCK was cut off on the far turn and taken up. TAMPER set the early pace and came again at the end and should have won. BRIGHT MORNING was off in a tangle and closed a big gap. DANDY was caught in the webbing and ran a good race.
