BARNEY BARUCH BECOMES OWNER OF TWO FILLIES SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., August 11. It developed today that the two fillies bid in at the Pagebrook yearling sale on Thursday night by Algernon Daingerfield, were for the account of Bernard Baruch. Mr. Baruch has had a keen interest in racing for a long time and has had one or two thoroughbreds that he raced in partnership, but this is his first real try at the sport. He has begun well, as both the daughter of Cudgel and the filly by Peter Pan have everything to recommend them. It is probable that W. P. Burch will train the Baruch horses in addition to those of his other patrons, rear admiral Grayson and Samuel Ross.
