STARS IN SARATOGA SPECIAL SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., August 11. The twelve two-year-old cracks of the year are named for the Saratoga Special tomorrow and the race should measure up to its predecessors, brilliant as some of the contests have been. The race is at even weights and only accidents of racing can prevent the best colt or filly getting home in front. August Belmont came up from New York today in order to be on hand for the race, in which he will be represented by his fine colt Messenger. Mr. Cosden is here- to see Martingale race and so is Mr. Widener, who will start Purity. Harry Payne Whitney, whose colors will be borne by Goshawk and Rialto, is expected to arrive tonight. Ed Bradley, the nominator of Bodyguard, has been here since the opening of the meeting and so has Harry F. Sinclair, whose Bud Lerner and Zev are as fit as hands can make them. The same is true of John E. Maddens McKiee. Bud Fisher, whose Cartoonist is one of the best lookers in the band of juveniles, and Montfort Jones, whose Dependence will be the colt named for Dan E. OSullivan, a popular newspaper man of Louisville, are here.
