Won handily; second and third drir-ing. LEFFARE worked his way up steadily and. under a vigorous ride, came through the stretch with a rush and won going away. NEAV ORLEANS raced forwardly and, saving ground when entering the stretch, outstayed LEGHORN in the final drive. LEGHORN began slowly, but closed n big gap and finished fastest of all. CATHERINE MARRONE set a good pace, but was much used in racing ORCUS into defeat and tired. LORD BRIGHTON began flatfoorcd and closed a big gap. lUD FISHER could not improve his position. SEA MONARCH displayed the most speed on the fiat and lost ground at the jumps, but held GRENADIER safe. GRENADIER appeared to sulk for the entire race and was hard ridden. GALANTMAN whs a forward contender in the early running and dropped back while rounding the last turn, but came again and outstayed ATIIELSTAN. The latter wa forced to race wide on the turns, but covered much the most ground and finished fast and gamely. PIRATE GOLD rushed through on the inside on ttie backstretch into a good lead and drew away on the last turn, but tired budly in the last eighth. MANY SMILES wns hard ridden all the way.
