I think his performances at Ascot in 1887 were really marvelous, for undoubtedly at that time he was r. roarer, and to win the Rous Memorial Stakes, giving Kilwarlin, the future St. Leger winner, twenty-five pounds and an easy beating, and on the next day to beat Minting and Bendigo in the Hardwicke Stakes wer certainly wonderful performances.
