Start good and slow for all but DREAM STAR. Won easily; second and third driving. TOUCANA began forwardly and, showing excellent speed, raced into the lead on the last turn and won easing up. MISS STAR set the early pace, then raced in nearest pursuit and made a game finish. TRANSOM, off slowly, gradually improved her position and finished with a belated rush. REST LOVK was in close quarters in the early running and came fast when clear, but tired finally. SILK TASSEL seemed unable to improve her position. MISS CERINA quit after going a half mile. FLANNEL SHIRT raced in close-up pursuit of niGU SPEED to the last eighth, then came fast and, passing the leader after a mild drive, was going away at the finish. HIGII SPEED set a fast pace under restraint, but tired in the final eighth when challenged. LUCKY ANTOINE began slowly and finished with a belated rush through the last quarter. BRILLIANT STAR, prominent in the early run-Ming and saving ground on the turns, tired badly in the stretch drive. Scratched 64231 Anterio, 112; 61231 The Dictator, 112. TUFTER was a forward contender from the start and. racing BRIDESMAN into defeat, took the lead, but could not withstand the winners challenge. REBUKE worked his way up on the inside and easily passed BRIDESMAN in the final eighth. BRIDESMAN ect a fast pace, but tired. BILLY BARTON ran poorly. CAP ROCK was never a forward contender. CHERRY PIE was outpaced and far back for the first half mile, but closed a gap with brilliant speed through the stretch and was going fastest of all at the end. BANTER, away forwardly, showed excellent speed and set a fast pace for five-eighths. BOYS BELIEVE ME raced in a forward position for the entire race, but tired finally. ROULETTE took the lead at once and, setting a good pace, finished gamely when challenged. CATHARINE MARRONE raced in closest pursuit to the stretch and tired. MARYLAND BELLE finished fast.
