Lord Woolavingtons Town Guard, son of Hurry On Williams Pride, scored another victory in the Gimcack Stakes, a three-quarters straight race, for two-year-olds, at York Thursday. The race had a value of ,000. There were six starters in the race and Towr Guard was so much the best that he won in a canter by four lengths. The Great Yorkshire stakes of 0,000 attracted only three starters. Mrs. Arthur James Express Delivery, bay colt, by Fari-man Mrs. Gamp, won from Capt. A. Stanley Wilsons Silver Band, bay colt, by Bridge of . Earn Shimmer. Lord Queenboroughs Two Thousand Guineas winner, St. Louis, was third. He ran disappointingly and never figured seriously in the running.
