DUFFERIN SPORT POPULAR Second Largest Crowd of Meeting in Attendance Another Double for W. M. Cain. TORONTO, Ont., September 9. Despite the fact that this was opening day at Thorncliffe Park, the second largest crowd of the meeting was on hand to witness the sport at Dufferin Park this afternoon. They were rewarded by some good racing with favorites being successful, four of them being winners. W. M. Cain scored his second double of the meeting when Arrow Point and Bond, both backed into favoritism, won easily in their respective races. Incidentally jockey Petzoldt, who rode the pai, was one of the days leading riders. Jockey T. Burns also winning two with Kingling II. and Sister Flo. Diocletian accounted for the first race and Assyrian Queen the second. Both were heavily backed and won with something to spare. Jockey D. Prible, who has been absent from the saddle for some t;rne, will leave for New Kensington, Pa., at the conclusion of this meeting. It is understood he will resume riding at that point. Owing to his having won yesterday. Port Light was ineligible to start in the fourth race today. L. Gentry and Debut are on the ailing list and were excused from starting in the opening race. Wm. "Red" Walker will serve in the capacity of official timer for the remaining days of the present meeting. Several jockeys here have announced theii intention of leaving Monday night for New Kensington, among them being W. Taylor, premier rider at this meeting, and jockey R. Rice and H. Chappell.
