LATEST LEXINGTON NEWS LEXINGTON, Ky September 9. Two cars of horses by express, one from Saratoga and the other from Louisville, arrived here yesterday. The car from Saratoga was consigned to E. D. Springer. For racing purposes he brought Long Island, Jocose and Warburton. He also has a couple of yearlings. Others in the car included the brood mare Listless and her filly foal by King James and a yearling filly by Peter Pan. They are the property of Mrs. Regan and go to the Whitney farm. The car from Louisville contained fourteen horses of Jack McPhersons string. The horses Major T. C McDowell sent to Louisville came back yesterday. Senator J. W. Bailey and John S. Barbee, who attended the George J. Long sale, came back today. Secretary Ken Walker of the Kentucky Sales Co., who conducted the sale, says it was one of the best he has ever had anything to do with. Sixty-nine horses were sold for 6,050 in one hour and forty-five minutes. Billy Treacy, who compiled the catalog for the Kentucky Sales Co. for the coming sale here on September 24 today said there will be upward of seventy-five yearlings to be offered.
