SALLYS ALLEY, off well, raced prominently to the stretch under slight restraint and, coming fast when called on, took the lead and won going away. MISS STAR set a very fast pace nnd raced UNTIDY into early defeat, but could not withstand the winners challenge. KIPPY, always close up, could not keep pace with the two leaders through the stretch. UNTIDY showed a good order of speed and finished gamely. It EST I.OVE raced ereditshly. CROCHET finished well. EQUINOCTIAL met with minor interference. RUXKLISE hail no mishaps. COMMODORE GAUNT, suddenly improved, ran and jumped well all the way and outstayed THE VIRGINIAN in a close finish. THE VIRGINIAN was hard ridden all the way and finished resolutely. FRANK B. quit. POLYTHIA steadily improved her position and. coming through on the inside when entering the stretch, saved much ground and, finishing fast into a small lead, outstayed LAST STRAW to win drawing clear. LAST STRAW, close up from the start, moved up menacingly on the stretch turn, but was forced wide and lost ground, then came fast and finished resolutely. PRODIGIOUS began slowly, but gradually improved her position while racing on the extreme outside and outtinished MARY PATRICIA in the final drive. The latter was much used in racing NANCY F. into defeat in the early running and tired. TEN-LEC began slowly. NANCY F. set a great pace to the stretch and quit. COSTIGAN, off forwardly, was taken under restraint in the early running and came fast through the stretch, but was held safe by the winner. DUNCECAP saved ground on all the turns and had no mishaps. ATHELSTAN was badly outpaced in the early running, but respouded gamely when called on for a final effort and finished with a belated rush. YANKEE STAR raced forwardly under slight restraint and finished resolutely. JUNE GRASS showed much speed under capable riding and finished better than usual when put to a drive. CHESTERItROOK quit. AMOR PATRIAE, a quick beginner, set a fast early pace, but could not withstand the winners challenge. SHAMROCK raced forwardly throughout and outgamed CAVEAT EMPTOR. The latter ran a good race. NEWMARKET had no mishaps. HENNA raced well. VIGIL closed a gap from a slow beginning. ALADDIN was cased up in the final eighth.
