CONTINUES WINNING WAY Heavy Weight Fails to Stop the Speedy Carmandale Procyon in Good Performance. TORONTO, Ont., September 15. Despite his crushing impost of 127 pounds A. Alexandras Carmandale took the measure of the small but select band of sprinters in the ,500 Kirkfield Handicap, the fifth and feature attraction at Thorncliff e Park this afternoon. The son of Meridian and Darunia took command after going the first eighth and led by a comfortable margin until the last eighth, when James F. OHara challenged and forced Pickens on Carmandale to a hard drive to win by a neck. Eulah F. came from far back to secure the short end of the purse. P. G. Christopher provided the winner of the Leaside Handicap, the secondary feature, in Procyon.. Jockey Fator waited until reaching the stretch with the winner, which responded gamely when called upon during the final eighth and easily disposed of Push Pin. Macbeth made a show of his opponents in the initial dash, in which he led by a wide margin throughout and won in a common canter. It was his second victory of the meeting. Taking the lead at once Avion was never headed during the running of the second race. Ras came from behind in the stretch to annex the fourth race in a drive from Diocletian and Alva. The concluding dash was also productive of an exciting finish in which Shoot Away barely lasted to beat the fast-closing Frank Fogarty by a head.
