CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF E. T. Carroll is a child of misfortune. After waiting a long time to have Deep Sinker ready to race the horse was kicked while going to the post Saturday at Belmont Park and is again thrown out of training temporarily. Brocade, the good two-year-old filly in the H. C. Fisher Stable, died suddenly Monday at Belmont Park, a victim of acute indigestion. Billy Kelly is following in the footsteps of another popular and star racer, Roseben, the "big train" of a decade ago. The latter, after his retirement from the turf, became a familiar figure on the bridle paths of Washington, while Billy Kelly, it is now said, will carry dainty Miss Boss on his back over the bridle paths of Montreal.
