SCENES At HAWliORNE The picture at the top shows horses being unloaded at Hawthorne to take part in the revival of racing in Chicago. In! the circle at the left is Old Rosebud, the Kentucky Derby winner of 1914, the "miracle" horse, which, after apparently breaking down, came back and startled the turf world by his wonderful achievement on the race courses of this country At the right is a picture of Thomas E. Bourke, secretary of the Illinois Jockey Club, who has been a big help to Judge Murphy in the promotion of the coming meeting. Immediately below Bourke fs picture is a scene depicting the work of preparing the track for the racing, the middle figure being that of Johnson Southard directing the force. At the bottom is the great Exterminator, which all Chicago and many visitors will journey to Hawthorne to see in action.
