ROSEATE II., off well, raced in close quarters on the inside until rounding the last turn and was forced back, but came fast through the stretch and got up to win in the final stridc3. CHILE displayed excellent speed throughout, but was tiring at the finish. BLACK FRIDAY ran well and took the lead, but was in close quarters on the inside for the last three-eighths and tired under vigorous riding in the final drive. WINNIPEG raced well. THE ALMONER began slowly, but gained steadily while rounding the last turn and, finishing gamely under vigorous riding, wore HIGH SPEED down in the last stride. HIGH SPEED, under slight restraint in the early running, moved up fast after entering the stretch and took the lead, but was tiring at the end. GOOD TIMES was much used in forcing the early pace and, racing JOHN JOSEPH into defeat, tired in the stretch. SUMMIT was unable to improve his position. GUELPH was hard ridden. BROOMFLAX, off forwardly and vastly improved, followed the leaders close up in the early running and was under slight restraint until after entering the stretch, where he raced PRELUDE into defeat and, taking the lead, was ridden out at the end. STORY TELLER was forced back when going to the far turn, but slipped through on the inside when called on on the last turn and gained steadily on the outside through the stretch. PRELUDE, shu filed back in the first eighth, closed a big gap on the extreme outside and, taking the lead on the backstretch, set a fast pace, but appeared to sulk when entering the stretch. WILLIAM TELL dwelt slightly at the start, but moved up fast on the outside in the early running and took the lead in the final eighth, but was doing his best to withstand ALADDINS challenge. The latter began forwardly, but was shuffled back in the first sixteenth, then gradually improved hi3 position and finished fast and gamely. BLANC SEING met with repeated interference, but closed a big gap in the final eighth and outgamed SILK TASSEL in a hard drive. The latter showed much speed in pacemaking and raced SEQUEL into defeat, but tired in the final eighth. SEQUEL set a fast early pace and raced well for a half. mile. The latter, after being outpaced for a half mile, gained steadily and would have been second in another stride. WYNNEWOOD retired after going a half mile. Overwelghts Duncecap, 1 pound.
