HOY was outpaced in the early running, but worked his way up on the outside and passed the leaders with a rush in the last eighth. CRUGIE also finished with a rush from a slow beginning. CONFEDERACY set a good pace and saved ground on all the turns, but tired. PAN AS A TN ran disappointingly. PIKESVILLE quit after running a good half mile. WHALEBONE was cut off right after the start. NATURAL closed a gap and finished fast. ANTICIPATE ran well. INDIAN PRINCE closed a big gap. WATER GIRL was under restraint .to the last turn and outfinished BELPHRIZONIA in the final drive. The latter was shuffled back right after the start and forced to race wide, but finished fast and gamely. TASSEL raced in closest pursuit to the last eighth and tired.
