R. F. CARMANS BIG LOSS List of Broodmares Destroyed in Disastrous Fire of Last Monday. The mares destroyed by Mondays fire at R. F. Carmans breeding farm in Maryland, all of which were believed to be in foal, were as follows: Paradise Queen, br. m, 1C, by Waterboy Rose Carlo, by St. Carlo. Vcncta Strome, b. m, 1G, by Ben Strome Veneta, by Regent. Bright Star, ch. m, 8, by Star Shoot The Scold, by Meddler. Owaga, br. m, 8, by Jack Atkin Divonne, by Hanover. Queen of Paradise, ch. m, 9, by Hastings Paradise Queen, by Waterboy. Yadopcep, b. m. 12, by Peep oDay Lady Bramble, by Bramble. Royalist, ch. in, 0, by Clifford Princess Monmouth, by King Monmouth. Garnet, b. in, 9, by Galveston Phida, by Onondaga. Penniless, br. m, 11, by Ornament Cutpurse, by Meddler. Luria, b. m, 12, by Sempronius Illustrious, by Galore. Sallie ODay, b. m, 14, by Peep oDay Sallie Ap-pleton, by St. George. Rose Marie, b. m, 14, by Bean Ormonde Identical, by Sam Lucas. Brynavia, ch. m, 12, by Bryn Mavfr Octavia, by Hilly Baywood. Josefina Zaratc, ch. m, 10, by Abe Frank Minyon, by Rancocas. One other mare was destroyed, but her identity was not established and will not be known until a complete check-up is made. The loss is the severest blow which the Carmandale Stock Farm has received. The mares are all of choice breeding and will be hard to replace. The loss will run into large figures.
