Won easily; second and third driving. RUDDY took the lead quickly and raced KEENAN into defeat while rounding the last turn, saved ground when entering the stretch and won easing up. KEENAN showed the most speed for the ilrst three-eighths and made a fast finish. HOMESTRETCH was saved to the stretch and finished with a belated rush. Start good and slow. Won easily; Second and third driving. SERVICE STAR began slowly and was saved under restraint for the first half, then moved up rapidly on the inside and easily passed CARMENCITA in the stretch and won in a canter. LORD HERBERT closed a big gap on the outside while rounding the last turn and outfinished CARMENCITA in the final drive. The latter was much used in racing CONSORT and ORDERLY into defeat and taking the lead and tired in the final eighth. SCOTTISH CHIEF ran well. WITCHWORK made up ground. LIBERTY GIRL quit in the final quarter and had no mishaps. ORDERLY set the early pace, but quit after going three-quarters. Scratched G38503Horeb. 112; C571C Search Light IIL, 107;65C13 Wylie, 100. PRINCE OF UMBRIA was hard ridden for the entire race and, coming fust through the stretch, outfinished ROCK SALT. The latter was a forward contender in the early running, but tired in the final eighth. PRIMA DONNA closed up ground. PETER BROWN set a fast early pace, but ran out on the last turn. TUFTER at once rushed into the lead and, racing WYNNEWOOD into defeat, made a fast and game finish. WYNNEWOOD raced well for tli roe-quarters and was eased up when beaten. BRIDESMAN, splendidly ridden, followed the leaders, under restraint, until on the stretch turn, from where he moved up steadily under vigorous riding and outfinished DUNCECAP at the end. DUNCE-CAP set the pace and, saving ground on the turns, held on tenaciously when challenged, but succumbed In the last stride. CANYON raced on the outside in the early running and was taken back, then came around on the stretch turn and lost ground, after which the leaders held him safe. SCOTLAND YET quit badly.
