BETWEEN THE FLAGS CHASE NEW YORK, N. Y., November 4. The Between the Flags Steeplechase, which Is to be one of the features of the election day race meeting of the United Hunts at Belmont Park, promises to be a real sporting event. The distance will be three miles and a half over a timber course, with gentleman riders in the saddle. There has been a marked improvement in the ability of the amateurs recently seen in the saddle and a fine race is indicated. Sir Ashley Sparks, president of the Cunard Line, has named Oola and Balfe; Mrs. Payne Whitney, the veteran Web Carter, and L. S. Kiefer will start Commodore Gaunt. The others will be W. Sinklears Meadowgrass, W. Almys Hard Banking, Hunting Valley Farms Lucky Penny, J. Neif Ewins Daybreak, R. B. Strassburgers Wolverton xi., and Gordon Princes King Neptune.
