ARDS IS GIVEN LONG REST Crack Imported Jumper Turned TurnedOut Out Since Last Fall Because Becauseof of Bad Underpinning NEW YORK N Y January 14 Ernest Heider had Al J Davis imported hurdler Ards fired and turned out last fall and he hopes to bring him back to the races fit and ready in the spring Had it not been for his underpinning Ards would undoubtedly have finished out the 1922 racing season one of the best horses seen through the field in j this country in many a day A perfect jump ¬ i er with an excellent turn of speed it was only his unsoundness that prevented his being great greatHeider Heider will have another imported jumper in the filly Sequel that raced successfully for him last year This filly is only a three yearold now She is a daughter of Book and Glandavedogue by Ardoon and was brought to this cjo rCl y with Ards She was winner of two rces last year and is a miss with a wonderful flight oj speed Of course on account of her tendyj age Heider has not done much with hertjet but he has done enough to be convinced fthat she will make a firstclass jumper and she will be pointed for the threeyearold races through the field in the fall
