JOCKEY CLUB SAYS NO NEW YORK N T January 19 It now develops that the Washington Park Jockey Club of Chicago through its secretary William B Golden vain ¬ ly sought recognition from the Jockey Club as well as an allotment of dates datesA A letter recently received by the Jockey Club from Mr Golden follows followsWe We desire to become affiliated with the Jockey Club as a member from Chicago and ask for thirty days racing each year starting the last Saturday in June and racing con ¬ secutively An early reply will be appreciated appreciatedIn In reply to this the Jockey Club answered The Jockey Club has never assumed cognizance of racing west of the Allegheney mountains and it does not at this time think it wise to make any change in its jurisdiction as officially recognized
