and the bugle call will be heard at Prince George Park announcing the opening of the spring racing season of 1923 in Maryland As this is the first of the big spring meetings to be held anywhere in the country more than local interest is being manifested Not alone will the crowds come from Baltimore and Washington but delegations are expected from New York and Philadelphia Never before at this early date has there been so much interest displayed in the approaching Maryland racing and it augurs well for suc ¬ cessful meetings at Prince George Park Havre de Grace and Pimlico PimlicoFrom From all indications the o000 Inaugural Handicap will prove to be a particularly at ¬ tractive opening day feature at Prince George Park next Monday Of the twentyseven nominations for this event it is expected that twelve will accept weights and meet in battle array arrayThat That the Montfort Jones stable is ready for an early start may be inferred by the fact that three from that establishment were named for the Inaugural Handicap No mat ¬ ter whether it be Rockminister Fair Phan ¬ tom or High Cloud that starts the Jones colors will be well represented representedL L T Bauer is prepared to make a Charlie Jock Scot was lame at New Orleans but appears to be In pretty good condition again Thimble wintered at Bowie and will hardly be seen under silks until toward the end of the Southern Maryland meeting Ettahe a Jive times New Orleans winner is a bear in Bowies deep going Mystic won three times at Iowie last fall Quecreek is the star of the string of Archie Zimmor which has come up from Havana with Turbulent Bobbed Hair and Cork Elm Cork Kim a half brother of the famous little black horse Slippery Elm was not as sound as he might have boon when he left these parts last fall but lie is going well enough now
