C W HAY FOR STEWARD STEWARDAT AT HAWTHORNE TRACK LOUISVILLE Ky March 30 It was re ¬ ported here today that C W Hay who had been serving as steward on Kentucky race tracks for several years has accepted the position of presiding steward of the Chicago race meeting to be held at the old Haw ¬ thorne track beginning June 30 and con tinning twentylive racing days daysMr Mr Hay has gained quite a reputation as a good judge of racing since his connection with the sport He acted as one of the stewards at the Fair Grounds New Orleans last winter and it is said he has been asked to preside it both the Jelferson Park and Fair Grounds meetings for next winter
