SUPERB ANNA M. HUMPHREY Her Victory in Ashland Oaks Pleases Owner — To Start in Preakness and Derby. LEXINGTON", Ky., April 30.— The splendid victory achieved by J. Cal Milams superb filly Anna M. Humphrey in the Ashland Oaks Saturday continues a favorite topic where horsemen foregather.. The opinion was generally expressed that the unbeaten daughter of Peter Quince may prove to be one of the great fillies of recent years. Her feat of running a mile in 1 :40% over a sloppy track was considered an excellent performance, especially when it is stated that the filly was under restraint for the entire race. As a matter of fact, in none of her three races has she been fully extended, and there is no telling just how good a filly she is. Mr. Milam was so well pleased with Anna M. Humphreys showing that he is mapping out an extensive program of races for her, and if his plans dont go amiss the filly will be busily engaged during the next few weeks. Milam has decided to start her in the Kentucky Derby on the assumption that she is of Derby caliber. According to present plans Anna M. Humphrey will also start in the Iimlico Oaks. Ireakness and Kentucky Oaks. She will be transferred to Pimlico together with Dust Flower, the two-year-old 43arah Day and Cornflower on May 5 and she and Dust Flower will be started in the Pimlico Oaks and later on in the Preakness. After that race Anna M. Humphrey will be sent to Churchill Downs for the Derby and if she comes out of that stake in good condition she will be sent after the Oaks. Jockey Mack darner will go to Pimlico to have the mount on Anna M. Humphiey in her first Maryland stake engagement. Sarah Day and Cornflower, the latter a full brother to Dust Flower, and regarded as the best of the Milam juveniles, have a numher of stake engagements at Pimlico and they have also been entered in the juvenile stakes at Churchill Downs and Latonia. Milam was somewhat disappointed with the failure of Sarah Day in her first start Saturday, but he found abundant excuse for her, as she was running over a track that she did not fancy.
