NEW ORLEANS RACING IN SAFE HANDS NKVV ORLEANS. La., April 30.— Racing in Louisiana was placed on the firmest basis it ever has occupied when it was announced by the board of directors of the Business Mens Racing Association that all outstanding stock had been subscribed for and thai. j I the present board, which comprises prominent, influential and solid business men, heed the controlling interest. For weeks it has been commonly rumored that a faction headed by Placide Frgerio and Robert S. Eddy had enough of the general stock to overthrow the present board and assume control of the capitalization of $:SO0,000. There was out only 15,000 worth of stock and the Frigeri»-Eddy faction was said to hold proxies for 80 per cent of that. At a meeting Friday night the board approved the sale of the outstanding stock, a check for 55,000 being handed them by Vic LeBeau, who said he represented men who did not care to be known in the transaction and the stock issued. It is said one man financed the venture, his only purpose being to assure the Fair Grounds against falling into the hands of the faction headed by Fi igerio and Eddy.
