I 1 PIMUCO TURF NEWS J. Butler came down from New York to witness the running of the Preakness Stakes. J. W. Pangle will ship a carload of horses from here to Toronto at the close of this meeting. A. M. Orpen stopped off here yesterday for a days racing en route from Toronto to Atlantic City. James Rowe shipped the Greentree Stables Cherry Pie to Louisville to fill his engagement in the Derby. Harland McDougall was a visitor from Montreal, the guest of J. K. L. Ross, for the Preakness Stakes. H. McDaniel, acting for the J. K. Ii. Ross stable, purchased the two-ye ir-old colt Be Thought from R. J. Walden this morning. Jockey Buliman suffered a broken collarbone in his fall in the first race, while Woodstock escaped with a severe shaking up. Sam Louis sold Knight of the Heather to H. Cohn. and Water Girl, which he purchased at the Bissell sale, to E. P. Chambers. Two claims were filed yesterday, E. B. McLean securing Lady Myra from S. Louis for ,000 and G. C. Winfrey taking Trevelyan from E. F. Whitney for ,000. Word was received today that the proposed meeting at Phoenixville, Pa., lias been declared off. No reason was given in the telegram announcing the news to horsemen.
