The latter tired after making a menacing ehal- -lenge in the stretch. POOR SPORT closed a big gap and outgamed MERRY LAND for third place. The latter ran well throughout. Won easily; second and third driving. BRIGADIER GENERAL jumped in his usual easy fashion and, racing into a long lead in the first turn of the field, won in a canter. IRISH SEA jumped and ran well and was not persevered with when his rider found the task a hopeless one. ROCKING HORSE outgamed SOBRIGADE in the final . drive. DRAFT was pulled up at the last jump. TREVISCOT lost his rider on the flat, while APRIL FOOL fell at the eighth jump, BOURBON GOLD lost her rider at the seventh and CAVENDISH at the third. HAPPY NIGHT showed tUe most speed and set a fast pace, but tired when the winner challengd. KINGS RANSOM was hard ridden all the way and just lasted to outfinish GOLDMAWR. The latter finished with a rush. SHOWY began slowly and was rushed up to second place, but his effort told on him in the final drive. Scratched— G97233Modest, 115; 69605 Postillion, 112. KING ALBERT, away well, raced in close pursuit of the early leaders and raced JUNE GRASS into defeat in the stretch, but had to be hard ridden t * outstay EXCHAN11IEST. The latter raced close up from the start and, coming fast through the stretch en 1 lie outside, carried his weight well and finished fast and gamely, but tired in the last sixteenth. TIPPITY WITCHET lacked early speed, but saved ground on the turns and outfinished JUNE CRASS. The latter bumped ENCHANTMENT at the start and was knocked from his stride, but regained it quickly, rushed to the front and set a fast pace, but the effort told on him. SETTING SUN began sluggishly, but finished fast. REPARATION forced a fast early pace, but tired and quit in the stretch. Scratched— 697971Thimble, 105. DREAM OF ALLAH raced into the lead on the last turn and finished gamely. SAILING B. closed a gap and was going much the fastest at the finish. BODY GUARD ran a good race.
